The moment you’ve all been waiting for has arrived. On Saturday, June 3rd from 2-4pm under the pavilion in Grace MacDonald Park, we will kick-off our volunteer activities with a mixer. We will play yard games, share good food, get to know each other, and introduce you to the Polestar volunteer experience.
We’re asking everyone to bring a small dish to pass, the theme is hors d'oeuvres/finger foods. We will provide the punch and yard games. We will also have several volunteer opportunities to tell you about, volunteer handbooks to pass out, and several board members present to answer your questions.

YOUTH BOARD SEAT FILLED
The bylaws that govern the Board of Directors reserves one seat on the Board for a member under the age of 25. The idea behind this was to always have the Board linked to the younger generations it serves. For the past several months, the Board has been searching for a qualified candidate to fill that seat. They’re proud to announce that the search is over and the newest Board member is Bella Larrabee. Bella is a Traverse City resident, well connected with the LGBT community, and eager to be a voice for LGBT youth in Northern Michigan. Her full profile can be found on the website at
With the addition of Bella, the Board of Directors is now wonderfully diverse. Members range in age from their 20s to their 60s, represent a variety of sexual orientations and gender identities, and bring an assortment of skills, talents, and professional experience.
Everyone on the Board is excited for the future and the impact they can make as a team.
