QUEER PROM 2017!

On Saturday, April 29th roughly 95 students from six counties gathered at Hotel Indigo in downtown Traverse City for the inaugural Queer Prom.  The event was made possible by a generous single donation and the hard work of Traverse Area GSAs and Polestar Board member John Young.

The night was full of laughter, music, and immense generosity.  We want to thank Hotel Indigo, whose staff went above and beyond in every way.  We also want to thank the volunteers who chaperoned the event, and the people of Indivisible TC who showed up to protect the youth from the lone protestor.  We also want to thank Jeff Jenkins, whose donation made the evening possible.

At the end, it was declared a huge success and we look forward to doing it all over again next year!

BOMBSHELLS CONTINUE FUNDRAISING EFFORTS

The Bayside Bombshells have picked up where Falling Down Stairs Productions left off and will be raising money for Polestar at their upcoming shows!  The Bombshells will donate all tips from select shows at Side Traxx Bar between May and July 2017.  Follow the Bombshells on Facebook to learn more about upcoming shows and how they’re raising funds for us.

VOLUNTEER MIXER PLANNED

To kick off our volunteer opportunities, we will be hosting a mixer on Saturday, June 3rd.  It will be a chance to meet Polestar Board members, learn more about the future of the organization, and sign up for upcoming volunteer opportunities.  If you would like to learn more about the mixer, please sign up to volunteer at tcpolestar.org/volunteer.  An email invitation will be sent to those on our volunteer database soon.
