Prom Fundraising Update
Prom is two weeks away and fundraising efforts are now rounding the final stretch. The teen planning committee and Polestar set a goal of $3,700 to cover costs of venue, food/beverage, music and decor. Last year's Prom was generously funded by a single large donation. Parent's Peer-to-peer Group
Polestar is pleased to announce it will begin rolling out peer-to-peer support groups in April 2018. The first group will be for the parents of LGBT+ youth. The group will meet the third Sunday of every month from 6:15-7:45pm at a location to be announced. Peer-to-peer support groups are an opportunity for individuals to share their experiences, learn from others, and build their support network. Coming Out Over Coffee Makes a Return
After a year-long hiatus, Coming Out Over Coffee is making a return! This social event is a gathering for the LGBT+ community at local coffee shops. It's an opportunity to enjoy a beverage, and good conversation while drawing the community closer together. What you may not realize, however, is that Polestar got its start at a Coming Out Over Coffee event back in 2016. Two friends were discussing over a mocha how they wished there was a place locally for the LGBT+ community
